Tramp Oil Separators | PRAB
Compliance
PRAB Tramp Oil Separators are the economical solution to reducing hazardous waste volumes up to 90%.
Health & Safety
Tramp oil separators remove oil which hosts bacteria causing respiratory and dermatitis issues in employees, minimizing employee exposure to lubricants that can cause health problems and lead to medical claims.
Heavy Duty
The tramp oil separator is a simple and trouble-free solution to fluid reclamation that offers minimal maintenance.
Value
  • Cut new coolant purchases up to 75%
  • Reduce the cost of wash water detergents, heating and disposal
  • Payback in as little as 6-9 months
  • Separated oils can be sold or recycled
  • No consumable media

Cut new coolant purchases up to 75% with the PRAB tramp oil separator system. Extend the life of soluble oils, coolants and washwater.

The PRAB tramp oil separator system removes free-floating and mechanically dispersed tramp oils, bacteria, slime, inverted emulsions, and more from individual machine sumps, central systems, and wash tanks. Systems can be installed machine side, or as a centralized system. Payback in as little as 6-9 months.

PRAB Tramp oil separators are designed as a simple, trouble-free, economic solution for fluid reclamation- removing free-floating and mechanically dispersed tramp oil from individual machine sumps, central systems and wash tanks.

  • Reduce new fluid purchase cost up to 75% (includes synthetic and semi-synthetic coolants, soluble oils and washwater)
  • Reduce cost of washwater detergents, heating and disposal
  • Reduce tramp oil to less than 1% in a single pass
  • Achieve system payback (ROI) in 6-9 months
  • Reduce hazardous waste volumes up to 90%
  • Available in mobile units for increased flexibility
  • Separated tramp-oils can be sold or recycled
  • Minimal maintenance
  • Compact, efficient system
  • Reliable, unattended operation
  • Small-footprint
  • Time tested installations worldwide
  • Use of gravity flow and coalescence act as oil purifiers
  • No consumable media
  • Machining and Grinding: Water soluble, semi-synthetic and synthetic coolants
  • Primary Metals: Rolling and drawing fluids, coolants
  • Washwaters: Alkaline and acidic washwater
  • Transportation: Oily water vehicle discharge
  • Pessure Washing: Oily water discharge
  • Other Applications: Wastewater pre-treatment, marine, cooling water, quench pits

Within the tramp oil separator system, contaminated fluid flows through a series of baffles and a porous media bed where free and mechanically dispersed oils are separated from the fluid. The clarified fluid flows over the effluent discharge weir back to the reservoir for reuse.

The collected oils, bacteria, slime and inverted emulsions are collected at the top of the separator and automatically discharged from the tramp oil separator system by an adjustable weir into a tote or other container.
