Fine Particulate Filtration for Cutting & Grinding Applications
The PRAB Candle Filter is specifically engineered to efficiently remove fine particulate from spent oil in honing and EDM applications, and in tungsten carbide tool and steel ball grinding applications. Filter uses media in a long cylinder that houses more than 10,000 thin membrane wafers. These membranes effectively and consistently capture grinding swarf at 1 micron. Filters operate with virtually no downtime for maintenance. The self-cleaning, air-driven backwash system automatically clears the filter of dirt and debris allowing the Candle Filter to perform reliably under large production runs.
Features:
Candle-like filter elements composed of thousands of thin wafers compressed tightly by spring
All particles larger than one micron trapped on outside edge of filter elements when dirty fluid passes through tiny gaps between wafers
10,000 thin membrane wafers capture grinding swarf down to 1-3 micron
Automatically cleaned by rapid backwash cycle
Uses air to blow out particles on elements and deposits them into sludge-collecting basket
Equipped with oil suction and filtration device in sludge basket, making dry sludge easy to collect and sell
The replaceable filter element lasts several years (when used with recommended oils)
Benefits:
Improves coolant recycling and fluid reclamation
Virtually no downtime for maintenance
Performs reliably under large production runs
Self-cleaning air pressure backflush cycle reduces labor and increases process efficiency
Swarf is purged into an external receptacle for easy collection and recycling
“The reason we purchased PRAB’s equipment is because it can keep up with production, it is fully automatic, clean, and very user friendly.”
